Let’s say you just came back from your 9-5 job, feeling tired and worn out because your job was so stressful. You had your dinner and went to take a nice warm shower to freshen up and you only had 1 hour to work on your online business.
What exactly should you be focusing on?
Well here’s my 60 minute marketing plan follow to make money online and essentially there are only 2 things that I really focus on.
1) Building your list
The phrase ‘the money is in the list’ has been used a lot – too much in fact. It’s no secret that these so called ‘goo-roos’ have huge lists reaching the hundreds of thousands which gives them instant traffic on demand and enabling them to do those six figure launches in just a couple of days.
So the first thing that you should be focusing on for a good 40 minutes is to drive traffic to your squeeze page and start capturing leads with your autoresponder. When building your business, acquiring assets is important and your ‘list’ is one of them.
For those of you who do not know what is a squeeze page, it is basically a page which sole purpose is to capture the name and email of the subscriber.
In this squeeze page, I’m offering a step-by-step wordpress video tutorial completely free of charge in exchange for the visitor’s details.
Why do I give it away for free when I could have easily charged $197 for this video course?
To obtain the visitor’s name and email, you need to offer valuable information that the visitor is interested in. This might be in the form of a free e-book, audio, video course or webinars. People will be more inclined to opt-in because they don’t have to whip out their credit card and buy something. All they have to do is input their name and email address in the box.
Therefore it is essential to be driving targeted traffic to your squeeze page daily and growing your asset. This can be done by either using paid or free traffic methods which I will cover in upcoming blog posts.
2) Email marketing
For the next 20 minutes, your goal should always be to provide as much value to your subscribers as possible. You have to be genuine and sincere in helping your subscriber’s solve their problem instead of treating your subscriber list like a cash cow where you hard sell them on product after product.
Here is one rule to follow:
Always ask yourself “How can I provide my subscribers with more value?”
Writing good email copy is important. You want to write your emails in such a way that you are writing to your friend and not to a gazillion people. Focus on building a relationship with your list so that your subscribers actually know, like and trust you. (KLT)
Email copywriting should be a skill that you practice on a daily basis. Here’s what a good email copy should contain:
- Eye catching title – The KISS rule applies here (Keep it simple stupid!)
- Good email structure – Break the email into short paragraph for easy reading.
- Infused with your personality (Extremely Important!)
- Strong call to action – If you want the subscriber to visit the link, tell them very specifically to click it!
Follow these rules and you should become a pro at writing email copy very soon.
I’ve just laid out my 60 minute marketing plan if I’m in a hurry or have other commitments for the day (especially on weekends which is family day). So if you would like to get started making money online, all it takes is just 1 hour a day!
